The Department:

The Data Privacy team will sit under the Group Legal department, ultimately reporting into the Group General Counsel, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with global Data Privacy Regulations across the Super Group. We identify risks associated with Data Privacy Regulations across the Group and advise the business on appropriate controls to effectively treat those risks. We always put data protection compliance first to help the business design and implement controls to protect the brand from those risks and provide testing and monitoring capabilities to report on the effectiveness of these controls to senior management. We take a pragmatic approach to risk management ensuring that inherent risks are managed effectively to facilitate the business’ commercial objectives with innovative solutions in the spirit that “Everything is possible”.

Purpose of the Role:

The Data Governance Officer will be responsible for supporting the Data Governance Manager in setting up the overall framework for the management of availability, usability, integrity and security of the data across Super Group, including third-parties and partners as appropriate.

They will work closely with the wider Data Privacy team, IT/IS teams and all departments across the business to develop and manage Records of Processing Activities and document key data flows across the business. They will lead in achieving optimal configuration of privacy-related tools and platforms, working closely with privacy team members to establish requirements and identify any opportunities for process automation.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Support the Group Data Governance Manager in embedding and strengthening group data governance framework, with focus on data quality, data ownership, accountability, and data security handling practices.
  • Lead on configuration and ongoing maintenance of any privacy and data governance related platforms, for example OneTrust.
  • Supporting the Group Data Governance Manager with the ongoing development and maintenance of Group ROPAs and other inventories.
  • Support the wider Privacy Team in performance measurements and reporting, through building dashboards and creating reporting based on privacy team, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Being a proactive advocate and brand ambassador of privacy and data governance across the business.
  • Support the data governance manager with the implementation of data governance initiatives.
  • Support in Data Quality initiatives and monitoring, including data quality checks, identification of data issues and ensuring requests are prioritised and structurally resolved.
  • Support to the Data Governance Manager on the management of day-to-day tasks.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a data governance or privacy related role
  • Good understanding of data protection risks and issues
  • Experience of developing and maintaining Records of Processing Activities in line with GDPR requirements
  • Good knowledge of the GDPR

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of industry leading data governance practices and business and technology issues related to the enterprise management of information assets
  • Experience of working in the gambling sector
  • Experience working with compliance software solutions
  • Experience training colleagues
  • Good understanding of project and programme methodologies
