The Advanced Analytics and Cloud Program within KBR is seeking a Data Engineer (Senior) for a future opportunity in Bloomington, Indiana (awaiting contract award). The program supports government customers within the Department of Defense (DoD) on various projects to develop solutions incorporating technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI) and cloud infrastructure.
In this role you will be part of a diverse team of developers, data scientists and technology experts to solve complex problems Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will work with government stakeholders to understand user requirements, develop technology recommendations, and implement solutions.
- You will be working with a dynamic team of Innovators, AI engineers and data scientists that are at the forefront of AI/ML application for the Department of Defense.
- You will focus on researching and developing leading-edge analytics enabled solutions, including applying smart algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
Clearance: Active DOD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant technical experience
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure to include proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Databases.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and tools to include building data pipelines.
- Experience with data warehousing and data lakes.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Azure and/or AWS Certification(s)
- Experience with sensor and vehicle health data
- Experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
Relocation to Bloomington, Indiana (or surrounding area) is preferred, however, remote may be a possibility.
