CX/UX Research Consultant – R0042619

This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of 8 days per month on-site at the nearest Wolters Kluwer office within a commutable distance anywhere in the United States.  The location requirement provided is subject to revision and modification at any time due to business demands.

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a strong CX/UX Research Consultant to join our growing UX team in Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America. Under leadership of the Manager of CX/UX Design for Tax & Accounting North America, you’ll have the opportunity to join a very talented group of UX professionals and will collaborate with UX Designers, product managers, developers and other stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that empower accounting professionals and teams to work more effectively and efficiently. 
 
For this position, you will need to have a strong research background, effective communication and storytelling skills, and the ability to drive product vision and strategy based on user and market insights. You will need to be innovative, challenging the status quo and inspiring new ideas to disrupt the market.

Required Job Qualifications (minimum): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Design, HCI, Behavioral Sciences, or related field) AND 2+ years User Experience Research or related research experience 

  • OR Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Design, HCI, Behavioral Sciences, or related field) AND 1+ years User Experience Research or related research experience 

  • OR Doctoral Degree in a relevant discipline (Design, HCI, Behavioral Sciences, or related field)  

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and organizational skills 

  • Strong knowledge or expertise in UX design principles, design thinking, Lean UX, and qualitative/quantitative research methods 

  • Desire to learn and grow with the team 

  • Well versed in analyzing qualitative and quantitative research data with the ability to produce well-written deliverables (findings reports, presentations, UX artifacts, etc.) that translate empirical data into compelling insights and product recommendations  

  • Proficient with Miro or similar design collaboration tools

Other Qualifications (preferences): 

  • NN/g UX certification or credits towards certification 

  • Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to inform UX and product strategy in a technology industry setting 

  • Experience collecting and reporting user data from Pendo or other analytics tools 

  • Experience impacting product direction on products leveraging AI and large language models (LLMs) 

  • Experience working in a B2B environment on enterprise solutions 

  • Experience in a formal Agile development environment. 

  • Experience with Tax & Accounting solutions 

  • Experience collaborating with designers in Figma 

  • Experience working with a User Research platform such as UserZoom 

  

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Work across organizational boundaries and across disciplines with Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, Developers and other stakeholders to ensure that we’re addressing the most critical user needs and opportunities to impact business and technology objectives with your user-centered knowledge. 

  • Identify stakeholders across Wolters Kluwer and bring them along as you provide qualitative and quantitative customer feedback to influence all aspects of product development. 

  • Tackle problems that require an understanding of intricate professional workflows and complex technical constraints across multiple applications (M365 applications, operating system, web browser), platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android) and devices (Desktop, Web, Mobile) while working to guide near and long-term investments. 

  • Understand complex systems by investigating the full context in which they exist, rather than just the individual parts themselves. 

  • Create research strategies and plans that leverage existing data and complement additional research that is needed. 

  • Identify opportunities to improve how we collect user feedback and communicate findings to maximize user-centered decision making 

  • Help define UX approaches, metrics, and work with others on research planning. 

  • Innovate and develop new approaches to measure user’s experiences. 

  • Work closely with other UX team resources to ensure all designs meet usability standards, user experience best practices, industry design standards and branding guidelines.
