About the Digital Products in scope
Patient Collect is a tool developed in house to capture monthly patient counts for different patient categories, diseases, products across 50+ countries. The data collected is leveraged across the organization for forecasting and analytics.
Global Insights is the reporting/advanced analytics platform for Global Specialty Care business operations, forecasting, analytics and marketing. It consolidates Specialty Care commercial sources from different data foundations and Vendor provided data sources.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and visualization engineers, provide guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure successful product delivery
- Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and analysing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support analytics and reporting needs
- Utilize cloud technologies, particularly Snowflake, AWS and Azure, to build and manage data infrastructure in a scalable and cost-effective manner
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ETL processes using tools such as Informatica, IICS, and custom Python scripts
- Drive the adoption and utilization of BI and analytics tools such as PowerBI, Dataiku for data visualization and reporting
- Act as a relay product owner for data engineering and visual analytics initiatives, defining and prioritizing requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals
About you
Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications:
- Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills related to data, analytics, and technology solutions
- Service-oriented, flexible, and approachable team player
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and solutions to peers and effectively lead and manage a team
- Adherence to architectural principles, design patterns, and coding standards
- Ability to drive the implementation of DevOps practices and automation to streamline the development and deployment processes
- Experience working in Agile environments with a deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product owner skills
Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence, business analytics, or comparable role with relevant technologies (ETL/ELT) and tools (Informatica/IICS, AWS, Snowflake and PowerBI a plus)
- Proven experience of 2+ years in a data engineering lead/manager role with expertise in data engineering, relational databases, data modeling, advanced analytics, and cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects, from planning to successful implementation
- Strong proficiency in Snowflake, AWS (particularly S3, Redshift, and EC2), and other cloud-based data technologies
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, IICS, and scripting languages like Python for data manipulation and transformation
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools, especially PowerBI, Dataiku, Tableau for data visualization and advanced analytics
- Experience designing and implementing real-time data streaming solutions using tools like Kafka for efficient data processing
- Experience managing job scheduling and orchestration using Control-M to ensure timely execution of data workflows
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Working knowledge of scripting languages (SQL, Python, Java Script, Shell scripting), databases technologies/concepts

- Design, improve, and maintain automation frameworks and tools.
- Create and estimate automation scripts using Java, Python, and Unix platforms.
- Utilize SQL queries for effective data comparison in test scenarios.
- Participate in Unix/Linux environments and GIT/Bitbucket workflows.
- Write moderate to complex code/scripts to test systems.
- Be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of a modular, extensible, and reusable test automation framework to enable continuous testing in a DevOps environment.

- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the usage of the entire application suite, processes, workflows, etc.

- Understand enterprise software design principles – architecture, design patterns, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Comfortably work in a self-guided manner with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your own time efficiently, without direct input or oversight.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A proven track record in software quality assurance, demonstrating over 7 years of experience as a test automation developer.
- At least 2 years of hands-on Test Automation experience applying Java/Python/Robot Framework.
- Proficiency in SQL queries, especially for data comparison in test scenarios.
- Practical experience in automating web-based APIs and database-centric applications.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of GIT/Bitbucket (source code management tool) and CI/CD Pipeline.
- Comfortable working in a diverse environment with a variety of banking & financial applications, innovative automation technologies, and testing tools.

About the Position:This Senior Software Engineer will be a key contributor to our data pipeline and application architecture, ensuring code is merged, released, deployed correctly. Reporting to the Director, Data Platform, you will work as part of our Ireland-based team and within a cross-disciplinary team of US based data engineers, product engineers, and cloud architects through all stages of development – from planning and design to implementation and release.
