In this role you will, operate under the jurisdiction of the Quality Assurance team to ensure the performative quality of manufactured powder products. The person in this role conducts thermal spray testing in accordance with internal specifications. Quality spray testing is conducted on powders produced in Materials Production and Engineering departments that are required for product release. Spray testing support is also required for analyzing customer complaints and other quality related checks.

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Operate thermal spray equipment related to Air Plasma Spray (APS), High Velocity Oxy Fuel (HVOF), and Flame Spray processes.
  • Conduct hands-on work including running thermal spray control systems, maintaining thermal spray equipment, rebuilding thermal spray guns, setting up testing fixtures, setting up robotics programs, sandblasting, and handling of thermal spray powders.
  • May also be assigned work in the Metallography lab where necessary (Rockwell hardness testing, metallographic preparation, optical/SEM microscopy, and more).
  • Must maintain all safety, productivity, and quality requirements.

 

     Safety

  • Responsible for ensuring the proper and safe use of equipment within the laboratory at all times. This includes wearing a respirator, safety glasses, and hearing protection where required.
  • Must be able to safely handle gas cylinders.
  • Must be able to identify and take corrective steps to prevent an unsafe working environment within the laboratory.

Productivity

  • Manage workflow through the laboratory. 
  • Must communicate well with colleagues to plan for best workflow and ensure that time commitments are met.
  • Ensure equipment is kept in good order to minimize down-time.

Quality

  • Must keep accurate documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Must conduct spray tests in accordance with internal specifications
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

 

Your Profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of thermal spray process is a preferred.
  • Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, welding, machining, or related environment preferred.
  • Capable of using machine shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Must be able to follow a variety of work instructions
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have good observational and problem-solving skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Understanding of standard laboratory safety procedures in the handling of dangerous chemicals and materials.

Anduril’s Air Dominance and Strike Division is seeking a Software Verification and Validation Engineer. Our software engineering teams in AD&S are integral to development of flight system solutions in all domains for our warfighters. As a critical member of our team, this role is pivotal in contributing to the evolution of the company’s verification and validation processes and methodologies.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the definition, design, and execution of product verification and validation activities throughout the product development life cycle
  • Implement and automate software verification tests by defining and delivering test cases written against software requirements
  • Analyze and simulate requirements per customer specifications or developed internal product requirements
  • Review use cases, requirements, and specifications for products to ensure that requirements and specifications can be verified and validated
  • The review also includes risk mitigations, usability, and regulatory requirements
  • Execute complex testing, perform in-depth statistical analysis, and interpret results independently
  • Ensure that testing and results are traced to requirements; activities are completed with objective evidence
  • Summarize results in reports with conclusions or recommendations
  • As a hands-on subject matter expert, lead ad hoc testing and potential failure mode analysis to characterize product designs and performance
  • Conduct V&V Design Reviews as specified in project plans, and in accordance with company procedure
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements and standards as they pertain to the development and testing of products

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will be making contributions to one or more research projects supported by  ongoing grants (see  ICL: Research).  Candidates will be responsible for conducting  research in the areas of theoretical and statistical modeling of human visual and multimodal perception/behaviors, generative diffusion models, cloud-based computer graphics, and  neural rendering (e.g., neural radiance fields and 3D Gaussian splatting).

The NYU ICL was established by Prof. Qi Sun (Assistant Professor at Tandon School of Engineering). The ICL is home to a highly collaborative, vibrant group of young scholars, with complementary expertise across theory, experiments, and computation. The research from ICL has been recognized as with several best paper and honorable mention awards at ACM SIGGRAPH, IEEE ISMAR, IEEE VR, and IEEE VIS.

 

Qualifications

Ideal candidates are expected to have:

ii) a Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, mathematics, neuroscience, vision science, or related fields;

 

ii) a demonstrated ability to conduct original research as evidenced by high-quality journal and conference publications;

 

iii) demonstrated project/laboratory management skills;

 

iv) the ability to strategize the goals of projects as well as design, conduct, and interpret experiments, under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator;

 

v) outstanding English language oral and written communication skills;

 

vi) a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently as well as in a research group; and

viii) the drive to pursue an excellent career in research upon completion of their post-doctoral training.

The Opportunity:

As an experienced Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you know that machine learning, modeling, and simulations are critical to intelligence analysis, planning, and force design. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve in support of wargaming and cyber intelligence activities, and to inform force design decisions. As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer in support of our National Security Sector, you’ll develop and execute modeling and simulation functions to support exercises, wargames, and cyber operations planning. You’ll use and adapt modeling and simulation tools to analyze resource planning and decision-making during wargames, lead efforts to design and assess new tools and methods for cyber exercise scenarios, support post-execution analysis to refine and improve future wargaming and force design activities or develop complex decision-support tools to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities in support of force design and resource planning.

You’ll be part of a large community of machine learning and data engineers across the firm, and you’ll collaborate with cyber defense professionals across the DoD to deliver world-class solutions to real-world problems. You Have:  

  • 15+ years of experience working with modeling and simulation
  • Knowledge of defense or intelligence data sources and analytic tools

L’innovation dans le domaine des matériaux est une préoccupation majeure pour Michelin afin de construire l’avenir dans le domaine du pneumatique, autour et au-delà. Dans ce contexte, des matériaux sont développés par nos équipes de recherche. Un besoin important de caractérisation de ces matériaux s’est dessiné afin de choisir et d’améliorer les technologies.

L’enjeu de ce stage est de produire de nouveaux descripteurs caractérisant l’état et la qualité de de composants pneumatiques à partir d’acquisitions faites au microscope optique, en particulier les descripteurs de dispersion de charges & particules. Ces descripteurs seront mis en forme afin de constituer l’élément central d’un protocole d’analyse d’image mis à disposition des utilisateurs et intégré au processus de mesure. Il pourra être automatisé.

Missions:

Dans le cadre de ce stage, vous aurez en charge un projet de développement de traitement d’images en python.

Vous serrez amené à :

  • Échanger avec les experts et formaliser les besoins du protocole d’analyse.

  • Réaliser un état de l’art sur les descripteurs de dispersion 2D et 3D.

  • Développer et mettre à disposition les algorithmes sous forme d’une librairie python & sa documentation.
