As a software engineer in the autonomy acceleration team at Aurora, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining software systems at the core of our self-driving vehicles. The team works across the autonomy group (localization, perception, planning, controls) and the software organization at large, on high-priority, short-term projects that are cross-functional in nature with the goal of speeding up the delivery of a production autonomous vehicle. Past projects have included managing onboard latency, visualizing autonomy, end-to-end autonomy metrics, performance optimization, building critical V&V tooling, and supporting autonomy simulation. Team members collaborate every day with leading experts in machine learning, sensor development, large-scale software systems, simulation, and robotics and have opportunities for advancing the state of autonomous systems and implementing their own groundbreaking ideas.
As a team, we strive to increase the pace of development and amplify our impact by developing systems and components targeted at critical parts of the self-driving problem. We focus on short-term efforts in both leadership and support capacities, while bringing a cross-autonomy perspective to the task at hand, and deploying disciplined engineering, evaluation of data, and rigorous testing. Our goal is to support onboard and off-board software development, with projects including deep performance optimization, visualization, developer and cloud tooling, system architecture, and core algorithm development.
In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and test off-board and on-board autonomy software.
- Develop tools for increasing the development speed of building autonomy software.
- Develop tools for introspection, visualization, and performance analysis.
- Improve the performance of autonomy systems through architectural and algorithmic optimizations
Required Qualifications

Pay Range
The base range for this position is $144,000 – $216,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

We are looking for a student to join the framework team in Risk Models Methodology & IRB Models and to work with all teams in Risk Models Methodology & IRB Models. Risk Models Methodology & IRB Models are responsible for developing and maintaining Nordea’s Internal Rating-Based models, including rating models, scoring models and LGD models. We are currently in a busy, challenging and interesting period of redeveloping and implementing several new models. The models are used for among other things credit risk management and regulatory own funds requirement calculations.

In this role you will support your colleagues in all teams in Risk Models Methodology & IRB Models with:
- Coding

- Administrative tasks
You will be working in an international environment with highly dedicated and well-educated colleagues. The role is based in Stockholm and we expect you to work 20-25 hours per week. You will have flexibility in your working hours.

- Previous experience with the IRB approach is an absolute plus
