Job Description

Vattenfall R&D is responsible for conducting business driven technical development that creates value for the company and helps us realize our strategy. We develop cost-effective, safe & sustainable solutions to improve the infrastructure of Vattenfall assets including Hydro, Wind, Nuclear, SKB, Heat and Distribution.

Thesis background/subject 

Overloading transformers (over 150MVA – 500MVA) beyond its design capacity or designing transformers for higher capacity than needed are common practices within the wind industry. Decisions related to both options depend on several factors like the repair time, probability of failure, etc. ​ Additionally, there is also an impact on the revenue and transformer’s lifetime.​

This thesis consists of:

• Conducting a literature review.
• Developing a standard overloading cycle from examples in IEC60853 & IEC 60076-7.
• Making an excel or python-based tool to calculate the impact of Transformer overloading on temperature rises (for example use annex B & C of IEC 60076-7).
• Providing an assessment of CAPEX (considering weight aspects) Vs revenue loss.

Based on the thesis results, we will be able to operate wind farm transformers more efficiently and reduce the loss in revenue. Also, our decision-making process will benefit from a better understanding of the costs and benefits of overloading transformers. In this way, we will favor the optimization of wind farms business cases, which will have positive effects on the energy transition.

Objective/Purpose

The ultimate goal is to gain understanding of the benefits and impacts of transformer overloading.

Description

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.   

 The base pay for this position ranges from $207,900/year in our lowest geographic market to $386,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong generalist software engineering background. You should be able to work with different programming languages, design solutions, develop our application architecture and implement new features. Versatility is key to us!

As an Engineer, you will be a technical reference and act as a guide for your teammates to help them do their best work. You will set the standards for your team to follow and propose improvements to processes, practices, and tools to make the developer experience at Subito better for everyone.

At Subito, you will collaborate with Product Owners, UX designers and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products. We take a DevOps approach, so you will automatically deploy and monitor your services to identify issues before our customers do. We move fast with a no-blame approach. Deploy with courage, and if you break it, then fix it!

• Catch up with your team in a stand-up meeting.

• Share updates with other engineers from across the company.

• Work on the stories in your sprint.

• Own the entire development cycle together with the cross-functional team, from requirements specification over implementation, test automation, and quality assurance to deployment and monitoring

• Contribute to the team’s work with clean, maintainable and testable code and participate as well as lead design and code reviews

• Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing REST API.

• Deep knowledge in at least two programming or scripting languages: Go, Python, Ruby, and Java.

• Knowledge of TDD and DDD methodologies.

II – Who We Are Looking For?

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong proficiency in spoken and written Turkish and English, and experience in business analysis and project management. As a Business Analyst at NewMind AI, you will play a pivotal role in translating business needs into functional specifications for AI solutions, collaborating with various departments to understand their data requirements and provide actionable insights. You will identify opportunities to improve business processes using AI, develop and manage AI projects, and ensure AI solutions meet stakeholder needs by effectively communicating technical concepts. Additionally, you will stay updated on the latest AI trends, analyze and report on key business metrics, develop and maintain dashboards and reports, foster collaboration across teams, build strong relationships with stakeholders, conduct market research, and provide strategic recommendations to the management team.

(i) Project Management: Oversee and manage various projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. (ii) Product Management: Work closely with product teams to define product requirements, develop product roadmaps, and ensure successful product launches. IV – What Is Required from You?

(i) Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a related field may also be considered. (ii) Experience: Proven experience in Business Analysis related roles is required. Experience in the management of outsourced projects, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with external teams, is preferred. (iii) Expertise: Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting, showcasing the ability to extract meaningful insights from data is essential. A strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles, enabling the effective structuring and management of data, is expected.
