Role Summary

Required

About the Role:

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will design and build reusable data integration components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support Operational Data Store / Enterprise Data Lake Platforms.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, framework driven and efficient data pipelines using scripting languages like Python, Airflow, Dbt and Cloud databases such as Snowflake, RedShift, etc.

• Implement data integration solutions for various data sources like SFDC, Product Telemetry, NetSuite and other systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

• Work closely with DevOps and data scientists to support their data platform automation needs.

What You’ll Need:

• 12+ years’ experience in design and development of data pipeline automation extracting data from Cloud API based sources. Experience developing complex automation frameworks, queries, data modeling, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes in SQL, Python, or similar technical languages.  

• Deep Experience in scripting languages such as Python and Cloud database experience such as Snowflake, Redshift, etc. to facilitate rapid ingestion and dissemination of key data.

• Proficient in transforming structured and unstructured data. Experience working on CI/CD processes such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD etc., and source control tools such as GitHub, etc.

• Experience identifying and solving issues concerning data management to improve data quality, and clean, prepare and optimize data for ingestion and consumption. You will work with your Data Engineering teammates to review design, code, and test plans to increase knowledge and application of key frameworks and methodologies.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.

• Experience working for a SaaS security company and building SaaS metrics is preferred

• Own the design of components and assemblies in 3D CAD and 2D drawings for electrical machines and their associated tooling
• Provide engineering analysis and first principle calculations in support of your designs or in order to validate peers results
• Lead development of design solutions through product lifecycle, from requirements, through concept schemes, preliminary design, detail design, support procurement, manufacture and production, test and verification
• Lead and support ‘hands on’ development activities of manufacturing processes and novel design solutions in the workshop

Job Description

Participating actively as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging (DI), the Manager, Business Operations, provides motivating and visionary leadership that fosters quality patient care delivery, excellent operational performance, and evidence-based decision making. The role maintains responsibility for all activities related to the team’s quality and process improvement, business analytics and project management.

The incumbent will lead the day-to-day operations of the above-mentioned team, identify improvement opportunities, and design and implement relevant solutions, in collaboration with team members and relevant partners.

Accountabilities:

• Maintains responsibility for the effective and efficient management of portfolio
  • Evaluates structures, strategies, and processes; identifies opportunities for improvement with respect to service delivery and utilization of resources; ensuring consistency with the organization’s Vision
  • Develops, implements and manages short- and long-term plans for the portfolio
  • Provides leadership through responsive and timely problem-solving of issues throughout the portfolio
  • Reviews/modifies existing and identifies/develops new short/long-term plans, in collaboration with DI leadership, prepares appropriate business plan documents in support of short- and long-term planning initiatives
• Manages all aspects of portfolio human resources in consultation with assigned Human Resources personnel
  • Supports organizational strategies and initiatives (i.e. staff satisfaction) for the development of a motivated, cohesive and highly functioning team of business/health administration professionals who can effectively meet portfolio requirements, involving encouraging ideas and suggestions for improvements in policies, procedures/practice, working with the leadership team to ensure creative and meaningful ways to acknowledge/recognize staff/volunteers and promotional opportunities
  • Supports staff in a responsive and timely manner to perform effectively in their roles, meeting regularly with and encouraging leadership development with staff; utilizing effective strategies for change management and manages the change process effectively

  • Prepare updates on DI strategic initiatives, PACS, digital path and HIS
  • Develop, update and execute on project infrastructure that will support the delivery of initiatives to improve processes and outcomes within DI
  • Lead or support project meetings, including the development and review of meeting materials and facilitation of meeting discussions
  • Manage risks and issues related to DI projects
  • Participate in prioritization of initiatives
  • Support status updates of initiatives through various communication channels including status reports and committee meetings

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business management or engineering required
• Masters degree in health informatics, statistics, business or related experience in a progressive, complex environment preferred
• Six or more years related experience (program/service), including experience working in a leadership role
• Experience in quality and process improvement required
• Experience in hospital data analysis, visualization, and reporting required
• Experience in data extraction and queries preferred
• Project planning, management and implementation experience required
• Strong analytical and effective problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated excellence in leadership, planning and change management skills
• Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships including effective collaboration with other leaders within the program and across the organization

Data Scientists are core to bringing medicines to patients; they drive, support, and sustain the portfolio from the earliest stages of biological discovery to first in human studies and beyond. We are looking for an exceptional computational biologist with oncology expertise to lead our global team of data scientists within the Novartis Biomedical Research Oncology Disease Area.

 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving high-caliber, interdisciplinary research grounded in computational biology, applying a deep understanding of early biology/target discovery, drug discovery, biomarker discovery and translational investigation as well as an understanding of the computational and data-management infrastructure required to support these programs.

• Interfacing with all stages of drug discovery, driving insights into target discovery, mechanism of action, biomarker discovery, back translation, and clinical trial support and analysis, contributing directly to hypothesis discovery as well as hypothesis testing across Oncology.

• Leader, thought-partner and collaborator to the global Oncology organization, while driving and implementing a forward-looking vision for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), guiding external partnerships and integrating with the broader Novartis Research Informatics communities.

• Serve as a member of the Oncology Disease Area leadership team as well as the Oncology Disease Area Decision Board contributing to our overall scientific strategy and mission.

• Represent oncology on the Biomedical Research Computational Science Council (CSC – a group advancing the interests and impact of all data science capabilities across BR).

• Build, implement and manage a cutting-edge and impactful portfolio of AI/ML related programs with Oncology target and drug discovery project teams and drug discovery platforms.

• Position AI-aided drug discovery contributions to deliver and support progress of the portfolio, enable new kinds of therapeutic discoveries, shorten cycle times, and increase efficiency.

• Lead, develop and inspire a global team of Oncology DS Experts based in Basel, Cambridge and San Diego.

• Identify, recommend, and evaluate external opportunities for strategic AI collaborations and engage in and/or lead resulting cross-functional, global collaborations.

• Act as a mentor to Data Science and AI/ML experts.

• Lead or contribute to key cross-divisional strategic data and digital projects and initiatives.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $313,600 and $470,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Essential Requirements:

• This position will be located at the Cambridge, MA site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 10-15% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

• Minimum of a University Degree with a PhD or MD equivalent in computer science, data science, biology, chemistry or medicine.

• People management experience.

• Deep understanding in oncology of early biology/target discovery, drug discovery, biomarker discovery and translational investigation.

To reinforce the Synechron Switzerland team, we are looking for a Senior ML Ops Engineer for AI ML applications. Our mission is for one of our clients, a major/global financial institution in Zurich.

Your responsibilities:

• • Join a newly formed centralised MLOps team to build (& support) tools and setup automation that improve the efficiency and productivity of data scientists.
  • Work closely and support data scientists and engineers in delivering solutions that bring cost savings to the client.
  • Some example projects are:
    • (i) Automating the packaging of models and deployment into an environment, with traceability on model version, experimentation and control checks
    • (ii) Enable continuous model monitoring to track model performance metrics (accuracy), detect performance and data drift, and generate anomaly and impact alerts where there is data quality or model degradation.
    • (iii) Establish security protection (malicious code execution, prompt injection attacks, data leakage, access control, encryption in transit/rest, IAM, etc.) in the ecosystem

Your profile and skills:
