Job Description

We are looking for Security DevOps Expert / DevSecOps to work on-site in Brussels / Belgium office of European Union Institution.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with cloud technologies and infrastructure especially AWS
• AWS expertise: solution delivery expertise, migration of applications to the cloud, automation through third-party tools, Infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Ability to design services to satisfy business objectives, based on the quality, compliance, risk and security requirements, delivering more effective and efficient IT and organisation solutions and services aligned to organisational needs.
• Solid knowledge of containers and their orchestration
• Solid knowledge and understanding of scripting and secure configurations for mainstream Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of cloud logging, reporting, and monitoring solutions.
• Solid knowledge of micro-services architecture design, development, deployment, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of a broad range of application architectures and languages.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems such as MS SQL, Oracle with an experience with working with big databases (at least 5TB in size).

Specific expertise

• Experience, of at least 3 years, with Amazon Web Services covering the following domains: cloud architecture and security fundamentals, containers and their orchestration, networking, high availability design, multi-cloud, serverless compute, infrastructure as code.
• Experience, of at least 3 years, as a DevSecOps engineer covering all of the following topics:
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Ansible or similar related technologies
• CI/CD and pipelines: Gitlab or similar technologies
• Docker, Kubernetes and similar
• Design and implementation of automation scripts: Python, Perl, bash, or similar Linux scripting
• Linux management.
• Experience, of at least 3 years, in working in Agile/Sprint based IT project methodologies
• Good knowledge with enterprise logging and monitoring solutions, analysis, and correlation of logs.
• Knowledge in modular and microservices architecture patterns

Certification
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional; or

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyse and conduct gap analysis in existing data architectures to identify impact areas and design solution options.

  • Relevant work experience in client-facing technical data management or data engineering roles.

  • Knowledge of typical data management and governance frameworks and compliance requirements, e.g. BCBS239 in banking.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

We are looking for a Senior security engineer responsible for development and implementation of security architecture and engineering best practices across S&P Ratings technology platforms. This role will lead a team of security engineers and analysts to provide Security engineering and Security Architecture consultation to build and enhance security in S&P Ratings Applications and Services including GenAI applications. 

Responsibilities and Impact 

This position will work across software development, QA, SRE and Operations teams to identify component and system level technical risks, identify and evaluate critical failure points, determine technical security controls to mitigate risks, prioritize and schedule controls with application development timelines, and work with cross functional teams to implement remediations. 

This senior level position combines managerial and technical capabilities and will drive the Secure SDLC roadmap and Cloud security architecture, assist with maturing the security engineering program, develop security tooling, mentor others and be hands-on partner to our software, SRE and QA teams to deliver innovative and secure applications. 

A successful candidate for this position will provide technical leadership, and manage a team that:  

  • Provides architectural guidance on best practices regarding security in software development, shared services, user interface design frameworks, high performance messaging solutions, server-side development, integrations, tools and technologies 
  • Drives and guides the specification and realization of a security architecture, with decisions driven by balancing security risks faced by the business along with customer or market requirements 
  • Develop, implement and maintain Application security and GenAI security strategy 
  • Perform threat modeling, secure code reviews, and secure design reviews for high risk applications,  evaluate new technology stacks and frameworks 
  • Perform vulnerability research, serve as technical security/risk advisor for new technology/applications developed by S&P Ratings 
  • Determine testing requirements and develop strategies to automate security testing using a variety of scripting and open source tools 
  • Assist developers in remediating vulnerability findings by providing line-by-line guidance 
  • Coaches development teams on security disciplines like Threat modeling, Security code reviews, provide training and education to developers on software security best practices 
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies / products / trends related to security architectural solutions 
  • Develops repeatable application security patterns to ensure that systems are placed within the relevant security zones based on the data they house and their purpose 
  • Consults and assists with security incident response process 
  • Consults on efforts to work with internal and external teams to effectively scope and drive Application Penetration tests that help identify and mitigate gaps in security controls 
  • Guide development and SRE teams in building secure Cloud Native applications by incorporating Cloud and Microservices Security best practices and industry standards 

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $220,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a leading role in developing, researching and implementing strategies that will meet Assent’s strategic and operational business needs.   • Lead initiatives to mature existing capabilities and introduce new capabilities into Assent’s data practice.

  • Conduct reverse ETL processes to push metrics and system elements into operational systems for enhanced context.

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to inform business decision-making.

  • Coordinate and align internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Customer Success, to ensure data accuracy and quality.

  • Collect large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements into unified cloud storage where you will reformat, cleanse, model, and embed quality rules making data fit for purpose.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Develop standards for data processes and automate where possible.

  • Train and develop both internal resources as well as Subject Matter Experts in different departments on proper ways to query, analyze and use data.

  • Lead/support the creation of functional and technical documentation related to data solutions.

  • Support business operations to identify, define and automate key metrics.

  • Identify opportunities and work with other departments to ensure common efficiencies and best practices are leveraged organization-wide.

  • Make recommendations based on identified insights that improve efficiency.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field and 7+ years of data engineering experience.

  • Expertise in SQL, Python or R, and AWS.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.

  • Mastery in tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Hightouch, Git, R, Python, SQL, SQL Server, and AWS.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in supporting organizational data analytics solutions.

  • Proficient in Data Management and Business Intelligence, coupled with exceptional mathematical acumen and meticulous attention to detail in data collection, reporting, and analysis.

  • Adept at conveying complex data insights through a robust understanding of data management systems, warehouse methodologies, data quality standards, data modeling techniques, governance protocols, and advanced analytics.

  • Exceptional skills in influence and negotiation, marked by a high level of professionalism and the ability to articulate data insights both visually and verbally to guide business discussions.

  • Experience in leading data engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with agile work environments and scrum ceremonies.

  • Strong business acumen and experience in aligning data initiatives with business objectives.

  • Experience in data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
