You will be part of the Advanced Analytics & AI team, which is an expertise department that builds scalable and repeatable AI solutions for the entire Nationale-Nederlanden company. Since this often involves NLP applications in the Dutch language, proficiency in Dutch is necessary.
What you are going to do
With your solution-oriented and proactive mindset, you translate business issues into data science solutions that you build using our AI toolkit. We work agile with colleagues from the business on projects that often span multiple sprints.
Specifically, you bring AI solutions to production so that your solutions really create value for our company of tomorrow. Researching and applying new technology plays an important role. You use state-of-the-art techniques such as AI as a service and LLMs, such as Cognitive Services and OpenAI. You understand how to help colleagues from the business translate their needs into AI solutions, and above all, you enjoy presenting your solutions to the business and helping them adopt AI.

Who you are
You are results-oriented and enjoy delivering code projects for the business, but above all, you see value in the further adoption of our AI solutions. Your open attitude and strong communication skills are a huge help in this regard. Furthermore, you have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, IT, or a study with a strong Data Science component
- Experience in developing ML applications in Python
- Practical knowledge of the data science process, such as data collection, cleaning, model evaluation, and model implementation
- Preferably experience with (Azure) CI/CD tools, Git, SQL
- And a plus if you have experience in developing (Flask) APIs
Who you will work with
The team you will work with on a daily basis consists of seven data scientists, an ML engineer who helps us put our work into production, a product owner who frames our activities, and a business translator who arranges the coolest assignments and helps with the adoption of AI.
In addition, you are a member of the data science guild where about 40 data scientists meet each other. Here you exchange knowledge and experiences with peers. We believe that every data scientist can learn something from peers and vice versa can also teach others in the community. This way, you accelerate your career and we deliver maximum value with our AI solutions.
