Job Description

AI Solutions Architect – HYBRID (Locations: Bothel WA, or San Diego CA, or Plymouth MN, or Cambridge, MA)

Philips IGT-D business is the world-leader in intravascular imaging (IVI) products, primarily through its line of Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) catheters and Flow Measurement (FM) guidewires. Artificial Intelligence applied to this data represents a significant opportunity for business, and more importantly for the physicians and patients that benefit from IVI. The person filling this role will be a principal contributor to the data services organization responsible for the data curation chain for these products.

The ideal candidate for this role has a strong understanding of the tools and best practices in the curation of images for AI. This person is expected to be a hands-on, learn-by-doing subject matter expert. They must also be an innovative problem-solver, bringing new thinking and new solutions to our team. This person will work closely with other data solution architect(s) in the team and help provide direction to full stack developer(s) supporting our group.

Your role:

  • Identify, document, and evaluate requirements for image analysis, as well as other data types as assigned.

  • Evaluate, diagnosis, and recommend improvements (or replacements) for existing data pipelines; this could include changes to tools, processes, and personnel.

  • Continuously scout and evaluate available and emerging tools for image analysis and computer vision, including generative AI, auto-annotation, synthetic data generation, and tools we haven’t even thought about yet.

  • Ensure that data, environments, and tools power up our R&D work, and cycle feedback from R&D into the stack.

  • Becomes our team’s expert in the proprietary signals and processing from our coolest products, especially for the toolchain translating these data into algorithms.

You’re the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline plus at least 3 years of experience (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science), or equivalent work experience of 5+ years in a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience with MLOps for AI of images, including tool selection, pipeline development, and quality controls.

  • Must have experience with full stack development in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure), including proficiency with Python, SQL dialects, and XXX.

  • Prior experience and/or graduate coursework with computer vision algorithm development.

  • Extensive R&D background in medical imaging, including image annotation and pipeline utilization.

  • Proficient in managing data governance processes, including access management, data provenance, and experience with MLOps solutions like Dataiku, DataRobot, etc. Also, skilled in engineering within highly regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, transportation, defense).

  • Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to at least one of these locations: Bothel WA, or San Diego CA, or Plymouth MN, or Cambridge, M.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $159,600 to $273,600, annually.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  

Note: At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
