The Impact: 

As an Architect/Data Architect, you will be responsible for shaping the vision and strategic direction of a new data platform designed to cater to the diverse needs of S&P Global’s business units. You will engage with internal stakeholders and technology collaborators to deeply understand the business domain, thereby driving the development and continuous improvement of the data platform. In your role, you will be instrumental in establishing priorities, devising a clear architectural roadmap, and overseeing the effective execution of the data infrastructure. Collaborating closely with the Head of Technology, Product Owner, and IT Delivery Manager, your expertise will ensure that the project’s architectural design aligns with business goals and stakeholder expectations are skillfully managed. Your discernment in evaluating and filtering input, along with the capacity to assertively manage requests, will be crucial in maintaining the team’s focus on creating high-impact data solutions.

We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect to join our team at S&P Global. As Sr. Software and Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data infrastructure and leading a team of talented engineers. Your expertise will guide the development of data solutions that are scalable, performance-driven, and aligned with our business objectives.

Responsibilities: 

– Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data architecture. 

– Develop and enforce data architecture standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality. 

– Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 

– Design and construct robust, scalable data models to support the organization’s data analytics and business intelligence needs. 

–  Oversee the evaluation and selection of database technologies, data warehousing solutions, and big data analytics tools. 

– Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations. 

– Drive innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and trends in data architecture. 

What we’re looking for:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

– Proven experience as a Data Architect minimum 8 years, with a track record of leading a team of engineers. – Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and data management best practices. 

– Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and big data technologies. 

– Excellent leadership and team-building skills. 

– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

– Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
