Working within the Data and analytics team, you will work directly within our data science team to produce complex data science models to identify and deliver business value across a number of key business processes. We support all areas of the business ranging from space optimisation in stores to analysing reasons for poor product availability.

As Asda moves through its digital and data transformation, you’ll be joining Asda at the right time. Leveraging data and analytics is a foundation to Asda’s transformation strategy and you would be at the very heart of this!

  • Contribute to the delivery of Data Science projects under the supervision of senior colleagues.
  • Using agile principles take on our ticket system and ensure progress is documented appropriately.
  • Execute the implementation of Data Science Models.
  • Execute the technical implementation of end-to-end machine learning systems
  • Create and submit pull requests for more senior colleagues to review
  • Develop own knowledge in data science through training and in work opportunities.

You might be a recent graduate and you’ll be motivated by a fast-paced role which requires strong communication and team working skills to achieve results. You’ll relish being part of a passionate, energetic team which thrives under pressure as you work together to provide creative solutions; all with the customer in mind.

  • You will have a basic understanding of Data Science including statistics, machine learning and programming and an awareness of Data Science projects delivered within an Agile Framework.
  • You would be confident and comfortable to contribute to team and project discussion and maintain an awareness of the projects focus and direction.
  • Have an understanding of programming skills such as Python and/or R and have SQL knowledge.
  • Basic analysis and data story-telling skills
  • Basic data visualisation skills
